The Janet Cram Awards are a prestigious competition, where pupils compete against other dancers from across the region. They will be expected to demonstrate several exercises from the ISTD Modern Theatre Syllabi, learn a free Modern amalgamation which is set on the day and to also perform a solo choreographed at VBDance. The competition takes place in front of an audience and is judged by highly regarded professionals from the performing arts industry. The experience in itself is great for the students. Some competitors will be selected on the day to qualify for the National Heats in London also.
Competitions and Festivals require a considerable amount of time and expense and it is advised that both students and parents think carefully about the commitment involved.

We are inviting a total of five girls from VBDance who have demonstrated outstanding exam results, attendance in class, attitude, dedication and commitment to classes to compete this year (x2 Juniors, x3 Seniors).
We do appreciate there is a great deal of commitment involved, and if you feel this is not for your daughter on this occasion then not to worry at all. Of course, we would be absolutely delighted if she is able to participate. Either way if you could please let me know as soon as possible so that I may get rehearsal space booked and Miss Sophie has time to choreograph dances. I will also need to send off entry forms quite soon.
