Choreograph your own dance and put your creative talents to the test in front of our lovely judge Zara Breeze. Perform in front of a supportive and friendly audience, cheer on your dance mates and celebrate your very own dance creativity!
If you would like to participate in our friendly choreographic competition taking place at Burgess Hill Girls, Croft II on Sunday 14th July at 1pm then please submit your entries for the competition via the online form below. The deadline to enter is Monday 8th July 2019. However, there are only a limited number of places available in the competition and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Your judge will take the following things into consideration when judging the dances.
-Choreography, including dance content, pattern, direction, originality of music and/or theme and use of space. Props may be used.
-Sense of Performance
-Costume,Hair and makeup
The dancers are responsible for creating their own dances and aside from some parental guidance with helping your child rehearse, the content must be that of the dancers entering.
Parents are welcome to assist the children with editing their music which must stick to the time limits. Parents may also assist with costumes, hair and make up as necessary.
Music must be provided in MP3 format and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Monday 8th July.
The following categories are available to enter:
Solos (time limit 90 secs max) £7 entry fee per dancer
Duets (time limit 2 minutes max) £6 entry fee per dancer (£12 per duet)
Trios (time limit 3 minutes max) £5 entry fee per dancer (£15 per trio)
Groups (time limit 5 minutes) (min 4 dancers, max 20)(£20 per group)
All categories above can be entered in any of the following genres:
Minimum age (from Year 2) 6 years
Maximum age 18 years.
Dancers may enter more than one category and/or genre up to a total of 3 dances.
Once all of the entries are received the groups will be split into age group categories. Where ages are mixed in duet, trios and groups, the age of the oldest dancer will be used.
To cover costs, this will be a ticketed event for our audience members. Tickets are £3.50 and will be available to book online via VBDance.com from Saturday 29th June.
