Dear Parents and Guardians

Another Summer Term is drawing to an end but we aren’t slowing down around here with Showcases, Choreography Competitions, Open Classes and Summer Clubs all taking place over the next couple of months. We also want to make sure you are all set up for the Autumn Term so please read down below for information on enrolments, new classes, invoices and a whole lot more!

End of Term Dates
Main School- Friday 19th July
(classes at Birchwood Grove, Manor Field, Queens Hall, Woodlands Meed School and College and Profiles Studio).
Saturday School- Saturday 20th July
Manor Field Clubs – Monday 8th and Wednesday 10th July)

(No classes 21st, 22nd, 28th & 29th October)

Manor Field Clubs (13 week term)
Monday 9th September – Wednesday 10th December
(No classes 28th, 30th October and 4th November)
(Reception children join from 6th November onwards)

Open Classes
Family and friends are invited to come along and observe classes w/c 15th July. We look forward to seeing you there!

Miss Bremner Returning from Maternity Leave
I am really looking forward to returning to teaching in September. I will be spending time teaching Ballet on Tuesday’s at Burgess Hill Girls and developing the after school dance program, Woodlands Meed School on Thursday’s and also at our Saturday school teaching Grade 1, and Primary Ballet from September. I will also be exam coaching during the Autumn term.

 

Invoices 

We have now sent out invoices for the Saturday School Autumn Term which are due for payment by Saturday 20th July (the final Saturday of term). Invoices for all other classes will be sent out over the next couple of weeks due at the end of July/beginning of August. Please make sure you check them over and if you want to amend or add any classes for the Autumn Term please let us know as quickly as possible. If your child will not be continuing with us, please let us know urgently. Also, just a polite reminder to observe the payment deadline on your invoice. We have waiting lists for the majority of our classes and regrettably, will not be able to guarantee a space for your child if your invoice is paid late.

Bronze Jazz Friday 4:15-5:00 (open to all Modern dancers from Grade 3 upwards)
Infants Tap Tuesday 4:30 – 5:00 (Burgess Hill Girls Pupils only)
Reception Ballet Saturday 10:45-11:30
Pre School Ballet Saturday 11:35-12:15
Primary Tap Friday 4:30-5:00
Modern & Tap Combination Class Saturday 9:00-10:00

 

VBDance Showcase 2019 

We were so happy with the response to our Pre School/ Saturday School and Lower School Showcases back in May and are looking forward to our Senior School showcase coming up on Saturday 13th July at Burgess Hill Girls. We will be holding two performances; a matinee at 3.30pm and an evening show at 7.30pm which are both ticketed events available to purchase online here . We look forward to seeing you there and would love to encourage our younger students to come along and watch to offer their support and be inspired too!

Choreographic Competition- Last Entries
If you would like to participate in our friendly choreographic competition taking place at Burgess Hill Girls, Croft II on Sunday 14th July at 1pm then please submit your entries for the competition via the online form here
There are only a limited number of places available in the competition and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their entries. Don’t forget to email your music over to admin@vbdance.com ASAP.  I will be in touch with a final update for entrants ahead of the competition on Sunday. Summer Camp
This year we are excited to run our Summer Club in association with Burgess Hill Girls as part of their 2019 Summer Camp.
 We have been so happy with the response to this new club with places selling fast and currently only 3 spaces remaining. If you would like your child to participate in our 2019 camp, please visit the following link here

 

 

Uniform
You can find a detailed list of everything you will need for each genre and grade on our website or do pop us an e-mail if you have any questions. Our uniform is available to purchase from G Lois Dancewear in Burgess Hill. 16A, Cyprus Road Burgess Hill West Sussex RH15 8DX

ISTD Exams
Congratulations to everyone who took their ISTD exams earlier this term. We are pleased to report a 100% pass rate with 18 Distinctions and 13 Merits awarded. Well done to all. We are looking forward to entering more students for their exams during the Autumn term.

Celebrating Student Success
Congratulations to Amy Masson who has successfully auditioned for a production of the Nutcracker at The Hawth Theatre this December. Further congratulations also to Summer Terry who has successfully auditioned for Panto at The Hawth Theatre.  Finally, Millie Masson has been awarded a “Young Leaders in Service” certificate from the Burgess Hill District Lions Club at school for doing over a hundred hours of volunteering work. This included helping out with the little ones classes & summer club at VBDance.

Student Volunteers
A massive thank you must also go to Tillie Seaton who has volunteered with us on Saturday mornings at VBDance. She has been a huge help in class and both children and staff have loved having her. Thank you Tillie.

VBDance Show May 2020
We are really excited for the New Academic Year with more exam sessions planned, open classes, workshops and the highlight of our school calendar…the VBDance SHOW at The Hawth Theatre. Don’t forget to make sure you have the dates and associated extra rehearsals for the show in your diary as follows:

Easter Holiday– Show Rehearsals Saturday 18th April and Sunday 19th April
Dress Rehearsal – Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2020
Technical Rehearsal – Friday 15th May 4:30pm onwards
Matinee and Evening Show – Saturday 16th May all day and evening.

We want to thank you all for another fantastic year at VBDance. We are overwhelmed with the dedication of our students who have really progressed so much over the course of a year and their parents/ guardians who bring them to class every week. A huge thank you to team VBDance for all of your hard work especially while I have been away from the studio on Maternity leave. It is truly appreciated. I can’t wait to see you all in September!

Here is to a relaxing summer break and returning in the Autumn Term feeling renewed and excited for another brilliant year!
