February News

We have had a great start to the New Year with everyone working hard and settling into the new term well. Please see below some important information regarding plans for the rest of this term.

Open Watching Classes
Family and friends are invited to observe classes on the following dates during normal lesson times:

Thursdays 10th March at Manor Field and Woodlands Meed
Saturday 12th March at Burgess Hill Girls
Friday 18th March at Birchwood Grove
Monday 21st – Wednesday 23rd March at Burgess Hill Girls, Birchwood Grove and Manor Field

Saturday 27th February – venue change
Due to Open Day at Burgess Hill Girls, Ballet classes have been relocated to the hall at Birchwood Grove CP School, Birchwood Grove Road, RH15 0DP on Saturday 27th February.

Tuesday 15th March – Street Dance
Unfortunately we are unable to use the Studio at Birchwood Grove on Tuesday 15th March and I have been unable to find an alternative venue. Street Dance is therefore cancelled Tuesday 15th March and a refund for this will be forwarded to you. Apologies for any inconvenience.

End of Term
Please remember our final classes of the Spring term take place Thursday 24th March.

 Onesies, Tracksuits and T-shirts
At the request of the VBDancers and parents we have finally organised some new VBDance onesies,

There is also an option to personalise them too! To find out more and order online, please visit the following link: http://getmekitted.com/vb-dance-52-c.asp

Exam sessions are booked for the 19th March, 25th June and 23rd and 24th July. We will be in contact with you via email with entry details if it is felt your child is ready to take their ISTD exam. Please note, additional coaching classes will be arranged which are compulsory for all exam candidates to attend.

VBDancers must be in the correct uniform for all classes. Please encourage children to have hair groomed into a bun for ballet classes as this allows the teacher to see and correct the dancers ‘line’ sufficiently. The only exception to this is Ballet classes at Burgess Hill Girls (Tuesdays) Manor Field School, and Pre Primary Ballet on Fridays at Birchwood Grove. Please ensure hair elastics are packed along with dancewear if children are changing for class at the end of the school day so that hair can be tied back into a ponytail.

Friday Grade 2 Ballet Class Performance
Children in Miss Bremner’s Grade 2 Ballet class on Fridays have been invited to perform in the Birchwood Grove Assembly on Monday 14th March. Miss Bremner will be in touch shortly with further details.

Day of Dance – Fair-trade Festival Saturday 23rd April 2016
VBDance have been asked to provide performers for the Day of Dance at The Martlets, Burgess Hill on Saturday 23rd April. We look forward to having our senior students perform in this showcase. Emails have been sent out to those involved. Please do let me know if your daughter is able to participate.

Wednesday Grade 1 Modern
We currently have spaces available in our Wednesday Modern class at Manor Field School 4:10 – 4:50 with Miss Sophie, suitable for children in Reception – Year 2. If you know of an aspiring dancer who would like to come along for a trial or would like to find out more, please email admin@vbdance.com

Saturdays at Burgess Hill Girls
I am delighted with the response to our Saturday morning classes at Burgess Hill Girls. We now take children from 2 years of age. There are three spaces remaining is our youngest class and a waiting list for the others and I am looking to add further classes to the Saturday timetable for the Summer term. Please do get in touch if your son or daughter would like to come along for a trial.

VBDance on Facebook at Twitter
We have  very active Facebook and Twitter accounts, so do follow us to keep up with news about the school. We always love to receive photos, testimonials and news about your children to share on the pages so do send in anything performing arts related you would like to share with us.
